Don't know about the rest of the details, but the N-M might be Nieman-Marcus, the famous high-end Dallas dept store.

My grandfather, John Erhard, owned the Cipango for many years. In the bar area, I remember there was a mermaid in neon holding a musical instrument. I don't know what it means. Can you post a picture of it? I'd love to see that. I wonder if anyone has some old pictures of the club they can post? I loved the old place and miss the times I got to go as a child. It is one of my fondest memories of visitng the club wiht my grandparents when we'd come to town. They did have wonderful food there I remember. I was very young and the last time I remember going there was in 1975. Granddaddy sold it in 1978, the year before he died. If anyone has any nice memories or pictures, I'd love to hear them or see any photos. Unfortunately, I have very few pictures from inside the club and none of the outside. I'd like to write a small book about it. I wish my grandfather was alive. I'm sure he'd have lots of stories to tell about it.
